Big News and Little Treasures.....

Good Morning, YBRoaders!
I have been meaning to catch up with all of you for several days.  Life has been jam packed and I am pretty excited about some new things happening.  First of all, if all goes well this week will be the last of my ugly blog.  Kristi has been working diligently with me on my new "look."  She is a fabulous young lady with an abundance of patience....and talent!  Thanks Kristi for tolerating me and my many design changes.  I can't wait for y'all to see the new and improved YBR.
In other news, I am going to start a new business with all of this.  It is still in the planning stages so I won't go into great detail but be looking for more info on "YBR Collections" in the near future.  We will be restoring and updating furniture and offering a line of home decor...vintage, shabby chic, cottage and french inspired treasures.  I really am soooooo excited!  In fact, check us out on FaceBook when you have a chance.  And, if you haven't already, please venture over to the right of this post and add yourself as a "Follower."  I promise, the fun is just beginning!

And now onto the Little Tresures......
I had been looking for the perfect piece to complete the furniture issue in our home study.  If you remember, I had sold all of the previous office furniture and am redoing that entire room.  I've painted already and am loving the new color, Sherwin Williams Rainwashed.  Gone are the dark days of Sherwin Williams Spicy Hue.

I found this lovely piece on Craigslist the other day and knew this was "the one" that needed to join our study makeover.  Here she is in all of her "glory."

She really is quite a looker but will not remain so drab.  Good bones, that's what I say......I am LURVING (my new fav word thanks to Sarah) her marble centerpiece!  All she needs is a little bit o' Chalk Paint and some new knobs and she will fit right in.  Don't hold your breath on this one though as I have a few other pieces ahead of her. (note: when I say "few", I mean many!)
So, as I was saying, Mr YBR and I were loading her up when I just happened to turn and ask the lady if she had any other pieces that I may be interested in......(oh how I wish I had a picture of the face that Mr YBR makes when I utter those few words....) She turns and I quickly follow her back in....she digs around a little and then produces this...

Actually, there are two, so we have twins!  I am sure that the angels were audibly singing as I was lost in the land of bliss.....I had a vision!  They were mine!  I paid her and off we went.
This "before" picture is minus the dangling crystals (I always forget to snap before I start) and the awful gold, glittered acrylic candles.....trust me when I tell you that you have to train yourself to look past some things.  Mr YBR is still in training.  *smile*

After some cleaning and a few coats of spray paint (oh how I lurve thee)....this is what we have now...

Ahhhhhh....

Bliss.....
And not just one.....but two!

They really are delightful and will soon be adorned with some dreamy white candles...

I fall hard for anything with dangling crystals....they call out my name.....I must have them....

They even have beautiful feet....just needed alittle pedi, that's all!

Now the BIG decision......do I keep them or make them available to one of you at YBR Collections?
Why do I have a feeling that I will cross this road many times as I begin this venture?
*sigh*

Blessings Abundant!

Some great finds! Your Craigslist table is going to be gorgeous; I can just feel it ;-)
In answer to your question about the tin foil, each nightstand took about 2 hours to apply the tinfoil. I applied the paint glaze and the polycrylic later, and they didn't take too awfully long!
P.S. It would be great if you would link up an e-mail with your profile!

How shall I put this? Your candlesticks are the sort that there MUST be 2 of, so no one assumes they were a mistake? I love what you've done with them but in the "before" photo they kind of SHOUT at you. Altho I am sure someone decorating in Goth would have loved them.
Your study table is a wonderful find. Is that wire on the door fronts?
I might even conside putting casters on the feet for ease of movement.

Yes, you will cross this road many times!! I always have an argument with myself as I am schlepping things to my booth - I only buy what I love, therefore, I want to keep everything!!!
It is getting a little easier, but not much.
I love that piece of furniture - she does have good bones. Funny thing, my husband makes that very same face!!!!
Thanks for coming to Treasure Hunt Thursday and I am going over to your facebook page.
